Learn how to set up credentials; these are unique passwords to authenticate your transactions and verify your merchant’s integration of your merchant.
With the creation of a merchant, a public and private credential are automatically created and assigned. You can find these credentials within your console in the Developers > Credentials module.
What is the purpose of each of these credentials?
- The public key: identifies your merchant to Kushki and is used to authenticate your transactions.
- The private key: authorized transactions, therefore, keep in mind that it should not be shared.

Master and additional credentials for merchants not operating under hierarchical logic (or sub-merchants)
🚨 Warning: Keep in mind that the configuration detailed below only applies to merchants that do not operate under a hierarchical logic or sub-merchants. Remember that, for merchants that use the hierarchical logic, this categorization is not used. If you need to know the process to check the credentials of your branch offices or sub-merchants, visit our guide available here. |
Currently, there are two current credential concepts in Kushki based on the operational logic under which the merchants work:
- The master credential, which is assigned to your main merchant. Only a Master of credentials can manage it.
- The additional credentials are assigned to your affiliated or secondary merchant. These credentials can be created by a Master user.
