Learn how the user configuration works in the console to manage the roles and passwords of your team members.
How does user management work in the console?
The administration of the user configuration module in the console of your merchant will allow you to:
- Define the members of your work team that will have access to your console.
- Assign the roles and access that these people will have in the configuration of your console. In the user role management article, we tell you what roles you can assign.
- Control access to the most sensitive information of your merchant and ensure that the administration of the console is fully monitored by your work team.
How to create a new user?
🔐Note: Keep in mind that the create a new user option is available to the Master User and the User Creator of your merchant. |
To set up a new user, follow the steps below:
1. Enter your console with your username and password.
2. In the main side menu, select the Users module.
3. Click the + Add button.
4. Enter the following information:
a. Name
b. Surname
c. Username
⚠️Warning: Please enter only text in this field, since it is not possible to add neither numbers nor special characters. Also, make sure to include your username with no spaces and that this field is between 1 to 32 alphanumeric characters. |
d. Email
5. Determine the user roles assigned to this team member. You can assign one or multiple roles to this person, if you require it.
a. Virtual POS
b. User creator
c. Master Smartlink
d. Read user
e. Smartlink
In the Permissions enabled by role type in the Console of our user role management guide, you will find the description of each of these roles:
6. Click Add user.
⚠️Warning: By selecting Return, you will exit this form, and the information entered will not be saved. Make sure to save the data before returning to the previous section. |
How to edit or change a user?
🔐Note: Keep in mind that the edit a user option is available to the Master User and the User Creator of your merchant. |
If the configuration of the users you created has changed, from this same module, you can edit the information as follows:
1. Enter your console with your username and password.
2. In the main side menu, select the Users module.
3. Identify the user you need to edit.
4. Click the Edit icon , which is in the row of the user you want to edit. The Edit User screen will appear.
5. On the Edit user screen, modify the information you need to adjust about the roles or identification data of the selected user.
6. Click Edit User to save your changes.
How to delete a user?
🔐Note: Keep in mind that the delete a user option is available to the Master User and the User Creator of your merchant. |
If one of the users you've created is no longer managing your console, you can remove them by following the steps below:
1. Enter your console with your username and password.
2. In the main side menu, select the Users module.
3. Identify the user you need to delete.
4. Click the Delete icon that appears in the row of the user you want to remove.
5. In the confirmation window, click Remove to save the changes.
⚠️Warning: This action cannot be reversed; if you delete this user, you will not be able to recover their information. |
How to reset a user password?
🔐Note: Keep in mind that the password reset functionality is available for the Master User, the User Creator, and the Credential Master of your merchant. |
To reset your users' password, you must follow the instructions below:
1. Log into your console with your username and password.
2. In the side menu, select the Users module.
3. Identify and select the user for whom you need to reset the password.
4. Click the Reset Password icon that appears in the user's row.
5. In the confirmation window, click on the button to send an email to the user with the verification code.
